Isotropic Nd-Fe-B bonded magnets (NEOQUENCH-P)

Daido's NEOQUENCH-P is a series of isotropic polymer bonded magnets based on Nd-Fe-B.
The raw material powder is manufactured by rapid quenching of prescribed alloys into nanocristalline flakes which are subsequently annealed for optimum magnetic properties.

Shortly after the invention of rapidly quenched Nd-Fe-B magnet powders, Daido had started to develop polymer bonded magnets from these powders.
By 1987, Daido had completed the development of high performance, high demensional accuracy bonded Nd-Fe-B utilizing its original manufacturing techniques, such as mixing, injection, coating, and magnetization.
Daido is the first to commercialize injection molded Nd-Fe-B magnets in Japan.

Daido also developed epoxy electrodeposition coating and high heat resistant magnet grades.

Applications of NEOQUENCH-P

NEOQUENCH-P are isotropic bonded magnets.
Unlike anisotropic bonded magnets which require magnetic field alignment, these magnets are not magnetized during the pressing.
Therefore, it is easier to prevent magnetic particle contamination.
Taking advantage of its high cost perfoamance, NEOQUENCH-P is being used in various applications, including personal computers, cell phones, and various sensors.

Forming methods of NEOQUENCH-P

NEOQUENCH-P are formed by either injection molding or compression molding.
Injection molding provides flexible shapes and compression molding provides higher magnetic properties.

Injection mold

The injection molded is made from the compound that mixed Nd magnet powder and high end resin. Wide range of characteristic is covered as an isotropic bonded magnet including heat resistant and higher performance. Injection mold has flexibility of shape design and simultaneous mold with other part or different materials injections are possible, thus meets various kinds of needs from the customer.

Feature of injection mold magnet

  1. Injection molded magnet has high level of charcteristic as NdFeB isotropic bonded magnet.
  2. Since this is isotropic manget, magnetization direction is free to choose, and advantageous for the multipole magnetization.
  3. Injection molding shows better dimensional accuracy and excellent serial productivity.
  4. Thin wall thickness minimum 0.3 mm, complicated shape can be produced. *1
  5. The metal part such as backyoke, hub, shaft or other resin part can be produced with this simultaneous injection mold method.
  6. Since the resin wraps the manget powder, it is rust proof and can be used by no coating. *2
  • 1 There is some case that manufacturing the thickness 0.3 mm could be difficult because of design, please consult with sales staff.
  • 2 When the coating is necessary by use condition, appropriate coating for the injection mold is prepared. Please consult with sales staff.
    NEOQUENCH-C is the compound used for NdFeB bonded injection molding. The high performance magnet can be produced by using NEOQUENCH-C.

Comression product

Compression product is made from mixing magnetic powder with resin binder and reaches higher level of performance than injection mold product's.

  1. As Ne-Fe-B bonded manget, higher level of magnetic performance
  2. Since this is isotropic manget, magnetization direction is free to choose, and advantageous for the multipole magnetization.
  3. Wall thickness ( Minimum 0.3 mm ) is available to produce. *1
  4. An excellent anti-rust performance is realized by the Daido original coating technology.
